Beginning December 21, 2022, I will be on maternity leave until at least mid-late January... That's if my little man hangs on till Christmas :) Due to the nature of the busy holiday season and trying to take care of my existing regular clients and my body, I will not be accepting new clients at this time, unless referred by an existing client. I hope to begin taking new clients again maybe February/March 2023. I will still have gift certificates available for purchase. If you have questions, please reach out. Thanks.
In each session with Lindsey, she tailors each massage to what your body needs. That means each session is a combination of every modality that she knows. Pressure is based on how much resistance each person's body gives back. For example, she may start out with some Swedish techniques and in certain areas of the shoulder where more pressure is needed, she may use some deep tissue techniques. Through a combination of her education, experience and intuition, Lindsey provides the appropiate therapy each person needs.
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility. Most of the time Swedish massage techniques will be combined with Deep Tissue strokes when needed.
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session. With this technique I will help you learn how to properly breathe to allow the muscle to relax fully. The more frequent this massage is received, the less soreness you may experience. Your muscles will learn how to receive the pressure. Deep tissue massages will be combined with Swedish massage techniques to provide a relaxing experience while working out the problem areas.
Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation. This massage is offered after 14 weeks gestation. Massage before 14 weeks gestation is conditional and would need to be discussed before scheduling. Specific pressure points and reflex points will be avoided on the ankles and other areas until pregnancy is full term (38 weeks). After 38 weeks, reflexology points on the ankles can be used to help facilitate beginning stages of labor. The uterus reflex points can stimulate contractions. In my experience, expectant mothers notice that their baby is more active during this stimulation of the uterus points. Please note that there is no guarantee a pregnancy massage will induce labor.
Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing "trigger points" in your body. Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle rather than along the energy pathways of the body. These "knots" are built up throughout a person's life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques order to release your trigger points. This process can be quite painful at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative. With most trigger points, you may feel a referred pain pattern to another part of the body. For example, a trigger point in the upper trapezius (top of shoulder) muscle has a pain pattern in the shape of a question mark around you ear. Trigger points can be the culprit of many pains, but we don't realize it because of the referred pain pattern is in a different location from the problem area. Trigger point therapy is combined with Swedish & Deep Tissue massages.
Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Stones are also used to spread the heat over the body and helps to increase the blood flow through the body. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating. Stones will be used in junction with Swedish & Deep Tissue techniques.
Reflexology is a type of bodywork that focuses on applying direct pressure or a circular motion to the specific nerve zones on the bottom of your feet and ankles. Unlike other foot massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the feet themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body. According to reflexology, every part of the human body is mapped into your feet. So if you look at your feet from the bottom, your big toes would be your head and down the center of where your feet come together would be your spine...the rest of the body branches out just like it does in the body. For example, your heart would be on your left foot. Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and constipation. You may have just a reflexology session or tag it onto the end of a full body massage.

Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension right in your workplace or a special event, such as before a wedding. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair which I bring to your location. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. With seated massage, you can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that you may feel in disrobing for a traditional massage. Also, chair massage sessions are usually shorter than traditional massage, making it convenient enough to fit into your busy schedule.
The best day of your life shouldn't be a stressful one. You can choose to have chair massage at your wedding venue while your getting ready, a series of massages for the bride and groom before the big day, or a package of massages to gift to your bridal party. Contact me for more details on how I can customize a package for your specific bridal needs.
